Search Engines Will Throw You Behind!
Indeed, this is probably the biggest disadvantage - especially if you are trying to attract free traffic to your site without running any pays campaign. You do need Search Engine like Google, Yahoo and MSN to bring lots of free traffic to your site. This is the facts. The bad news is that they will only display your website when there are people using their Search Engine to search for a site and if its keywords are relevant and matched to your site content, your site will display. You will only get displayed after getting listed in their system.
Can you see the importance of a Search Engine to allow your website to be indexed. Although there is no proof to say that you can never get listed with Google or Yahoo or MSN with a free website, but even if they do it will be very slow and having lots of technical problem.

Non updated site for too long.
Too many people just simply build their site with Free web host service and then they ignore the sites for no reasons. They just abandon them! Search Engine dislike too much of "non-dated" webpage especially from the same domain name. Remember what we said earlier, when you sign up a Free Site you are only getting "yourname.SomeFreesitedomain.com" domain name as your website's address. Just imagine if hundred thousand of people registering the free web host service and majority of them decided to dump their site for no reason. Thus, there will be lots of non value contents web page and the worse part is they are having the same domain name.
What if your website is so unique, special, full of fresh contents? Having said that, you will have higher chances to get listed by Search Engine. But, think deeply, if you were a search engine programmer, will you want to get a headache to find for few good sites but need to go through few hundred thousand of rubbish websites? You won't! Search Engine also same.
Nowadays, search engines are getting smarter and had a script written when they detected any website which is having more than few thousand sharing the same domain name they might choose to ignore it.
There is no evidence to support my opinion on this. Apparently, you may want to prove it by using any search engine and start typing "any search keywords will do". Once completed try to find is there any website listed is from free website service? The answer would be "NO" or "Very less".
